Kamakura Hase no Akari is a new once-a-year light-up festival that will be held for the fourth time this year. The theme will be "Connection = Ring".

Illumination that evokes the history of Kotoku-in centering around the Great Buddha. A magnificent space that evokes the image of the golden Great Buddha statue and the Hall of the Great Buddha where visitors are guided by candlelight.
This year, the candles will be adorned with decorations in the image of lotus petals.

The lighting, designed to evoke the hustle and bustle of a festival, showcases a space that seems embraced by the majestic sacred tree, which is about 400 years old. The music of the Kamakura-Bayashi festival music players makes the lighting even more brilliant.
A western-style building that is a registered tangible cultural property lit up beautifully against the night sky. The inside of the building is also bathed in a calm atmosphere that befits the nighttime. This year, the lighting of the garden, which evokes a starry sky, has been greatly expanded.
