Hase no Akari 2018

Eight sightseeing spots in the Hase/Gokurakuji area will be lit up at night, creating a world of light showcasing the beautiful culture and nature of the area.

Kamakura Hase no Akari is a new once-a-year light-up festival that will be held for the third time this year.
The theme will be "Connection = Ring".

Eight temples and shrines in the Kamakura Hase/Gokurakuji area will be lit up at once, presenting a beautiful world of light linking up the entire area. Please be sure to come, visit the temples and shrines and experience the history, culture and beautiful nature of Kamakura in the fantastic light of this event, which can be experienced only during this period. “In this beautiful lit-up world, you will be able to enjoy a wonderful time with your family and loved ones along with the pleasant breeze from the sea and the chirping of insects, experiencing a sense of connectedness that will become a cherished summer memory.

A gentle and soft light fitting for the "Temple of the Flowers." This year, beautiful lighting evoking the starry sky has been added. The warm light leaking out from the shoji (paper screens) at the Main Hall reminds the world of old tales.
